Earlier this summer, Heat magazine and other outlets insisted that Miley Cyrus was “being protected” from Ashley Greene, her co-star in LOL: Laughing Out Loud. According to the tab, the pop star’s “people” had barred her from hanging out with Greene, who supposedly partied too much for the good of Cyrus’ image.

It was, of course, a totally made-up rumor.

Cyrus is free to be friends with Greene, and — surprise! — the two reportedly went dancing at a nightclub on Sunday without anything horrible happening.

The LOL actresses danced at VIP Room in Paris, where they’re currently shooting the movie (which is a remake of a French film).

“She was with one bodyguard and two girlfriends,” a spy at the club told UsMagazine.com, adding that Cyrus wasn’t acting “too crazy.”

The only “crazy” thing is that the bogus rumor about Cyrus and Greene being kept apart was widespread enough to make their perfectly happy, uneventful evening together newsworthy
